Energy In = Energy Out

Why is the ‘Energy In = Energy Out’ formula important?
We need energy for everything we do – from running and walking to working at school. We even use energy to sleep! What this formula means is that all the energy our bodies consume through eating and drinking should be used up by what we do in our daily life – including getting enough exercise.
If you eat too much food and don’t use enough energy (usually by not exercising enough), that energy will turn to fat and you will put on weight. If you eat too little food and use too much energy, then your body will start to lose weight. Lose too much and you will become dizzy and weak.
So, in order to lead a balanced lifestyle we must be aware of how energy affects us. And the easiest way of keeping track of all the energy flowing in and out of our body is by remembering that formula – Energy In = Energy Out!
