How do you feel when you know you are representing your team / country? I feel excited, very happy, extremely proud of myself and thankful to all the people who have supported me and thankful to God.

How and why did you get involved in your sport? I have always been very sporty and I used to love watching the Olympics. My favourites were athletics and gymnastics. I first tried athletics at school and I was naturally good at it. I had an extremely encouraging teacher who convinced me to join the local club and the rest is history, as they say.

What is your favourite moment in the history of sport? This is a very tough question! One of my favourite memories is watching Kelly Holmes win the double gold in 800m and 1500m in Athens Olympics 2004. Pretty special.

  • Three words that describe you: Motivated, bubbly and focussed...

Who would you most like to meet? Jessica Ennis

What is your most prized possession? My talent. But if I have to choose an actual object, then my ipod.

Who has been the biggest influence on your sporting career? My very 1st coach Mrs Wallace simply because without that initial encouragement and enthusiasm I would not have discovered my love of the sport, thus not achieved what I have today.

Any family connections to sport? Only their connections to me J

Who has been your toughest opponent and why? Everyone I line up against is my toughest opponent, without each and every one of them there would be no competition at all.

What is your biggest passion away from sport? Medicine. It is hard work but extremely rewarding, just like athletics.

Favourite sport(s) other than your own? I love watching gymnastics, and I have recently got into rugby because my little brother plays it.

Top tips to relax? Playing your favourite music really loud and dancing round your room. It’s extremely cheesy, and probably annoys my flatmates but always feel so much better for it.

What is your ultimate ambition? To win an Olympic medal

Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time? Proud of how hard I have worked and everything I have achieved.
