First sporting success? Winning the Scottish Ladies Amateur Championship at Machrihanish in 2000. At 19 I was one of the youngest post-war winners.
Finest sporting moment? Finishing fifth in the De Vere Scottish Ladies Open at The Carrick in 2007. It was my best finish as a professional and was in front of a very supportive home crowd – amazing!
Your tip for the top: Stay focused on what you want to achieve, work hard and learn from people who are already successful.
First international / ‘big time’ call-up: I represented Scotland at Girls level in 1998, when we won the Home Internationals for the first time in years!
How do you feel when you know you are representing your team / country? It is such an honour to play for my country. I felt so proud to be Scottish and to be wearing the team uniform. I will always remember the first time I heard ‘Lynn Kenny, representing Scotland’. I got goosebumps and I still get them when I hear it today.
How and why did you get involved in your sport? My family all played golf, so it was my Mum and Dad who introduced me to it. My sister and I would run around in the woods, come out and hit a few shots, got quite good at it and that I was hooked!
What is your favourite moment in the history of sport? Watching Steve Redgrave winning his fifth gold medal at the Sydney Olympics – my throat was sore from screaming at the TV.
Who has been the biggest influence on your sporting career? My parents have been a huge support and influence, along with my coach, Kevin Crags. And of course I have been inspired by golfing legends like Annika Sorenstam and Laura Davies.
Any family connections to sport? My Mum, Dad, Grandfather, aunts and uncles all played golf. My Mum was a very good county player and she helped me a lot.
Who has been your toughest opponent and why? Annika Sorenstam! Because she was world number one and won nearly every tournament we both played in!

Three words that describe you: Enthusiastic, determined, organised.
Who would you most like to meet? The late Seve Ballesteros. He was a golfing legend!
What is your most prized possession? My Scotland and Great Britain & Ireland blazers... and my iPod Touch!
What is your biggest passion away from sport? Spending time with my friends and family. I miss them the most when I am away at tournaments (especially my two nephews).
Favourite sport(s) other than your own? Squash, tennis and skiing (when I am allowed to, it’s too risk in case I break an arm or a leg or something.
Top tips to relax? A nice cup of tea, cosy clothes on and a good movie on the TV... or sunbathing next to the pool if I am abroad.
What is your ultimate ambition? To win lots of tournaments and play for Europe in the Solheim Cup (the ultimate team event, best in Europe take on the best in USA).
Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time? Captain of the Solheim Cup team! I would also love to play golf in Rio at the 2016 Olympics!
