First international / ‘big time’ call-up: When I started competing at the Pro World Championships 2010

How do you feel when you know you are representing your team / country? I feel really great representing Scotland as it is such a great country for wind sports and not so many people realise that so it is excellent promotion.

How and why did you get involved in your sport? My Dad and brother have always been into water and wind sports so they persuaded me to start after I had finished school. I like to challenge myself so taking up the extreme sport of kite surfing seemed like an epic challenge.

What is your favourite moment in the history of sport? Taking a podium place at a world cup event feels so amazing. It makes you feel somewhat famous.

Who has been the biggest influence on your sporting career? Aaron Hadlow and my parents.

Any family connections to sport? Dad and brother both big wave windsurfers but not competitively.

Who has been your toughest opponent and why? My toughest opponent is Hannah Whiteley( British Champion), she is very consistent but I have beaten her a few times before and hope to do it many times more!

What is your biggest passion away from sport? I like photography and hope to improve my skills with cameras.

Favourite sport(s) other than your own? Gymnastics, athletics, snowboarding, skateboarding.

Top tips to relax? Good tunes that free your mind from any bad thoughts.

What is your ultimate ambition? To become British Champion and to reach top 5 consistently in the World

Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time? Still kite surfing but not competitively!
