    Where do you train? Stirling, Hamilton, Greenacres (ice rinks) Palace of Art for gym sessions. 

    Nickname:  Mother Goose

    Education: Bachelor of Arts with Hons. 

  • First sporting success?  Competing in the World Championships for drivers with disabilities at Hopetoun House, Edinburgh 2005.  Winning the international curling competition in Prague  in 2006 – my first trip away with the squad. 

    Finest sporting moment? Being nominated by my fellow athletes and being presented with the Sportsmanship Award at the Wheelchair World Championships in Prague in 2011.

    Your tip for the top: Wish it. Dream it. Do it. 

    First international / ‘big time’ call-up:  Wheelchair World Championships in Sweden 2007.

    How do you feel when you know you are representing your team / country? It is a real honour to play for my country and it is really special to put on that playing top with Scotland/Great Britain and NEILSON but also remember all the people who have helped and supported me to get that top on my back.

    How and why did you get involved in your sport?  My family have all been involved with curling and having tried it when I was a teenager (on my legs), was able to take it up again when I started to use a wheelchair in 2004, after I took my class of children along to Hamilton Ice Rink. 

    What is your favourite moment in the history of sport? Watching Frank Duffy, Michael McCreadie, Tom Killin and Angie Malone win the Wheelchair World Championships in Braehead, Glasgow, in 2005 and thinking, rather than watching them, I would much rather be on the ice winning medals!

    Who has been the biggest influence on y ur sporting career? Michael McCreadie

    Any family connections to sport? My Grandfather represented Scotland in Curling and played against the top players of his generation.  My Uncle also represented Scotland and has coached a national team. 

    Who has been your toughest opponent and why? Whoever I am playing in my next game because everyone has the ability to play to their potential.  

  • Three words that describe you:  dedicated, loyal, team-player.

    Who would you most like to meet? Robin Sharma (an author who wrote the Monk who sold his Ferrari)

    What is your most prized possession? My loved ones (My family)

    What is your biggest passion away from sport? Being around my family and loved ones. 

    Favourite sport(s) other than your own? Tennis, Show Jumping and Gymnastics. 

    Top tips to relax? A good book and going out for a lovely meal. 

    What is your ultimate ambition? To win Gold at the World Championships and Gold at the Paralympics

    Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time? Still enjoying the great sport of curling in some capacity.
